Indian flag is flying high on the exhibition industry landscape with the re-election of Ravinder Sethi, Managing Director, R.E. Rogers India as a Committee Member, International Exhibition Logistics Association (IELA) and Sudhir Dhavan, CEO, Rogers India joining IELA as a new board member for 2021-2022. Dhawan also won the first prize as Faces of IELA.

David Palomo Sánchez, Project Manager, Suomen Messulogistiikka Oy (SMLog Finland) and Bas Wiendels, Director, Valverde BV, Netherlands are the other new faces in the IELA board. Sandi Trotter, Business Development Director TWI Group Canada, Canada was re-elected as board member.

Other members of the board include Guido Fornelli, Managing Director Expotrans SpA, Italy; Matthias Dornscheidt, Vice President Global Fairs & Exhibitions DB Schenker Deutschland AG, Germany; Alexandra Erdmann, CEO, Swiss Expo Logistics Ltd, Switzerland; Daniel Mithran, Director, JIM Project & Expo Logistics (M) Sdn.Bhd, Malaysia; Jacqui Nel, Director Exhibition Freighting G.S.M South Africa, South Africa and Christoph Rauch, Managing Director, BTG Messe-Spedition GmbH, Germany.

Greg Keh, COO, TWI Group Inc., USA was also re-elected as a committee member and he along with Sethi and Lena Ericson, Managing Director On-Site Exhibitions AB, Sweden will form the 2021-2022 IELA Committee.

The 13th edition of Aero India 2021 exhibition was organised in Bengaluru, Karnataka from 3-5 February 2021. R.E. Rogers India was an official partner for the show.

The event is organised every alternate year and is now a major exhibition for aerospace and defence industries with a public air show. It enables industry professionals to gain market insights, announce new developments and gain media coverage. Aero India offers a unique platform to international aviation sector to bolster business.

Mr. Ravinder Sethi has been elected as the 2nd Vice President of Asian Federation of Exhibitions & Conventions Associations (AFECA) on October 24th 2018.

The announcement was made during the 13th AFECA Annual General Meeting in KINTEX, Goyang City, Korea. Being an election year, AFECA conducted elections for the 18 members Board for a term of 2 years comprising 1 President, 3 Vice-Presidents, 1 Honorary Secretary, 1 Assistant Honorary Secretary, 1 Honorary Treasurer, 1 Assistant Honorary Treasurer, the remaining 8 office-bearers shall serve on the board as board members and 2 internal auditors.

AEO – LO is the short form of ‘Authorised Economic Operator – Logistics’. India launched the AEO Program in conjunction with the “Safe Framework” developed by the World Customs Organisation (WCO).

The objective of AEO program is to provide businesses with an internationally recognised quality-mark indicating their commitment to security in the international supply chain. Certified companies are also required to confirm that their customs procedures are efficient and compliant.

As per WCO, entities that receive an AEO status are considered a ‘secure’ trader and a reliable trading partner.

The 25th FIATA World Congress was held for the first time in New Delhi, India from 26–29 September, 2018.
